Armando Nuñez is President and Chief Executive Officer, CBS Global Distribution Group. He reports directly to Leslie Moonves, President and Chief Executive Officer, CBS Corporation. || In this role, Nuñez is responsible for overseeing all of CBS Corporation’s international and domestic distribution operations. The CBS Global Distribution Group includes CBS Studios International, which licenses CBS programming worldwide to more than 200 markets across multiple media platforms, and CBS Television Distribution, the preeminent company in television syndication. || Domestically, Nuñez runs CBS Television Distribution, which produces or distributes seven of the top 10 first-run syndicated shows in the United States. This includes long-running franchises such as the #1 show in syndication JUDGE JUDY, the #1 talk show DR. PHIL, the #1 and #2 newsmagazines ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT and INSIDE EDITION, the top two game shows, WHEEL OF FORTUNE and JEOPARDY!, as well as HOT BENCH and off-network hits including the CSI, NCIS and STAR TREK franchises and EVERYBODY LOVES RAYMOND. || As CBS’s top international executive, Nuñez oversees all international distribution, sales and marketing of programming from CBS Television Studios, CBS Television Distribution, CBS News, Showtime and one of the industry’s largest libraries of television product. He is also in charge of creating and licensing international formats, such as AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL, as well as directing 13 offices worldwide. || Under Nuñez’s management, CBS Studios International has grown to distribute a comprehensive slate of top-rated, critically acclaimed programming in every genre. Programming assets include the CSI franchise, the NCIS franchise, JANE THE VIRGIN, ELEMENTARY, UNDER THE DOME, THE GOOD WIFE, BLUE BLOODS, HAWAII FIVE-0, BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT, WHEEL OF FORTUNE, DR. PHIL, CBS THIS MORNING, 60 MINUTES, PENNY DREADFUL, RAY DONOVAN, THE AFFAIR, EXTANT, ZOO, SURVIVOR, AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL and a library that contains more than 70,000 hours of programming. || Nuñez is also leading CBS’s continued expansion of international joint venture channel partnerships with 18 channels spanning 103 territories worldwide. These channels are available in 24 languages and reach 70 million households outside the U.S. Through two CBSSI ventures with AMC Networks International (f/k/a Liberty Media’s Chello Zone), CBS-branded channels are seen throughout the United Kingdom, Central and Eastern Europe, Africa and the Middle East. In Australia, CBSSI is partnered with Ten Network Holdings Limited, providing content for the youth-targeted digital multi-channel ELEVEN. Most recently, the RTL CBS Asia Entertainment Network launched two CBS-branded thematic channels that are widely distributed throughout Southeast Asia. || Previously, Nuñez was President, CBS Studios International (formerly CBS Paramount International Television). He originally joined CBS as President of what was then called CBS Broadcast International in July 1999 and assumed the additional title of Executive Vice President, CBS Enterprises in January 2000. || Nuñez has held leadership positions in international distribution for the past 25 years. Prior to joining CBS, he served as President, Universal International Television. In that role, he oversaw all program sales worldwide, as well as the division’s expansion in new areas of distribution. From 1994 to 1997, Nuñez was President, New World International Television Distribution, with responsibility for international sales, marketing and co-production. From 1992 to 1994, Nuñez was Executive Vice President, International Sales, Viacom Entertainment. In addition to selling Viacom’s programming slate worldwide, he was active in supplying product for the company’s global networks, including MTV, VH1 and Showtime. || Nuñez is a former member of the Board of NATPE International, as well as the Board of the International Council of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS). In addition, he is currently on the Board of Trustees of Fordham University and was formerly on the Board of Visitors of the George L. Graziadio School of Business and Management at Pepperdine University. || In 1995 Nuñez was named one of The Hollywood Reporter’s “Next Generation” executives. He was listed in the publication’s “Latino Power 50” in 2007. Nuñez was also named one of the “100 Most Influential Hispanics” by Hispanic Business Magazine in 2007 and 2008. In April 2009, Nuñez was named one of the “10 Most Powerful Latinos in Entertainment” by Poder Magazine. On the occasion of the MIPTV’s 50th anniversary in 2013, Nuñez was one of the first recipients of the inaugural MIPTV Médaille d’Honneur, which recognized six international television executives, including his father Armando Nuñez, Sr., for their achievements in the industry. At the same time, Nuñez also received the City of Cannes Gold Medal at Cannes City Hall in a ceremony hosted by Mayor Bernard Brochand. || A native of New York, Nuñez graduated from Fordham University with a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing and management.
