Fredrik af Malmborg is Managing Director of Eccho Rights, the Sweden-based international distributor. With offices in Stockholm, Istanbul, Madrid, Manila and Seoul, Eccho Rights' mission statement is to empower creativity worldwide.

Fredrik started out as a radio reporter and host at just 14 and went on to become a digital media entrepreneur before co-founding Sparks Network, which would become Eccho Rights in 2004.

In close partnership with leading producers such as Ay Yapim, Fredrik and Eccho Rights have been a huge part of the global success of Turkish Drama over the past decade, selling thousands of hours of content, and establishing series such as Ezel, Karadayi and Brave And Beautiful as household names around the world.

The company continues to develop its powerful readymade catalogue while growing its efforts in international co-production, and facilitating international format adaptations.




 

Kristin Brzoznowski

Kristin Brzoznowski is the executive editor of World Screen. A ten-year veteran of the company, Ms. Brzoznowski contributes to all of World Screen‘s English-language print publications, as well as oversees the online newsletters including the flagship World Screen Newsflash. She also manages the World Screen Guide, TV Kids Guide,TV Drama GuideandTVFormats Guide.  




 

Laura Burrell
Head of Formats, International Programme Sales; Viacom International Media Networks

Laura  Burrell  has  been  a  leading  figure  in  driving  VIMN’s  international  format  business  since  2009.   Reporting  into Caroline  Beaton,  Senior  Vice  President  of  International  Program  Sales,  Laura  is  responsible  for  overseeing  Viacom International’s  extensive  portfolio  of  format  titles  from  its  core  brands  including MTV, Comedy  Central  and Spike,  and for spearheading the international rollout of its hit formats.   Her work encompasses all aspects of format exploitation, including  marketing  and  pitching,  negotiating  deals  with  third  party  broadcasters  and  producers  worldwide,  and overseeing   the  initial  production  phase  to  ensure  that  format  adaptations  are  created  to  the  highest  standard.   In addition  to  her  work  with  3rd  parties,  Laura  also  regularly  advises  and  assists  VIMN’s  local  channel  networks  on upcoming formats opportunities.   

Laura has recently led the global rollout of Spike’s hit sensation Lip Sync Battle, resulting in 20 local productions across 4 continents in the space of just 24 months.  Local versions have aired in Canada, China, UK, Africa, Philippines, Indonesia and  Chile  to  name  a  few,  helping  the  format  to  win  the  Best  Comedy  category  at  the  2016  C21Media  International Format Awards.   

Laura  has  over  20  years’  experience  in  the  field  of  International  Distribution,  and  more  than  a  decade  as  a  format specialist.   She  has  held  a  variety  of  senior  positions  at  leading  production  and  distribution  companies  including  SPTI, 2waytraffic,  ITV/Granada,  and  format  specialist  Action  Time.   She  has  worked  on  the  international  rollout  of  hit franchises such as I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here, Dancing on Ice, Hell’s Kitchen, Stars in their Eyes, Catchphrase, Dragon’s Den, The Power of 10 and Who Wants to be a Millionaire.  She is also a fully qualified fitness instructor in her spare time, teaching a range of fitness classes across London.

Endemol Shine Group Natalie joined Endemol Shine Group in 2011, she is responsible for licensing scripted and non-scripted formats for Endemol Shine Group across Central and Eastern Europe.She supports Marina Williams, COO of International Operations at Endemol Shine Group in implementing the regional strategy and developing business growth in non- operational CEE territories.One of the recent key successes are first series deals in Greece landed for Deal or No Deal, Masterchef, Star Academy, So You Think You Can Dance and Ready Steady Cook; off-air deal in Ukraine with Fairy Platinum and many more.She previously lived in Russia, Moscow and worked at ADV Marketing Communications, the largest advertising holding in the territory.

CEETV operates the leading news and market intelligence platform for Television in Central and Eastern Europe – ceetv.net. TVBIZZ manages the first social network for the international TV community and the biggest supplier of news from the industry – www.tvbizz.net, and TVBIZZ Magazine.

Georgi graduated from the American University in Bulgaria in 2003. The same year, he started working at Bulgaria’s leading independent producer SIA Advertising. He joined Nova TV in 2006. In September 2007, Georgi moved to the Netherlands and started working for the world’s biggest independent producer and distributor Endemol. 

In early 2009 Georgi came up with the idea to start a new service focusing exclusively on television in Central and Eastern Europe, and together with his partners created CEETV which started operations in September 2009. TVBIZZ, the first social network for the global TV industry, launched in 2012.

She has wide expertise in drafting and negotiating agreements for producers, audiovisual content providers and TV platforms, covering the development, production, post-production and distribution phases of films, TV series or programs. She also advises information technology companies on liability and risks relating to IP, advertising, unfair competition and rights of self-portrayal. Darya Ermolina is a counsel in the Moscow office of Baker McKenzie. Ms. Ermolina specialises in intellectual property. IP enforcement and litigation is her strong point. In 2005 she obtained a Ph.D degree in Law. Darya has been working with Baker McKenzie for more than eight years, successfully representing international companies in Russian courts against bad faith and illegal use of intellectual property rights belonging to renowned right holders, such as Richemont, Dell, Conde Nast, Home Box Office, 20th Century Fox and many others. Darya Ermolina was recommended as an intellectual property attorney by Legal 500 EMEA and IP Stars 2016.

Dr. Zsófia Lendvai, PhD
Associate, Baker McKenzie

Zsófia advises primarily on intellectual property matters, including trademark, patent, copyright and know-how, relating to various activities and industries, both at the national and European level. Zsófia wrote her PhD on the enforcement of copyright law in Germany and the U.K.. Prior to joining the Firm, she worked for the Hungarian Ministry of Justice, where she drafted the intellectual property legislation. Thereafter, she served as in-house counsel for one of the largest Hungarian pharmaceutical companies, where she was in charge of legal issues relating to trademark and patent rights and also responsible for drafting and reviewing license agreements. Zsófia is a member of Baker & McKenzie's European Intellectual Property Practice Group. She is a member of the Board of the Hungarian Trademark Association and of the Enforcement Working Group of the National Board on Anti- Counterfeiting ('HENT'). She is also a member of the Copyright Experts Council and of the Board of Experts on Industrial Property attached to the Hungarian Intellectual Property Office. She has published several articles on intellectual property law and regularly speaks on IP and related matters at conferences. Zsófia also lectures in the framework of the postgraduate info-communication law course at the University of Pécs on software and database copyright law as well as in the framework of the European Business Law LLM course of the Eötvös Loránd University on intellectual property rights enforcement.




 

Paula Cohen McHarg

Paula is responsible for the distribution of all Keshet International formats and finished  series to CEE & CIS, Africa, The Middle East, as well as Greece and Turkey. Prior to working across this extensive region, she focused on Western European territories.

Paula is responsible for the sale of many of KI’s popular scripted formats and finished dramas which have travelled across CEE, CIS, and Africa under her direction.  

She oversees an eclectic catalogue that includes the premium drama series Prisoners of War, BBC One’s remake of the KI family drama The A Word, crime drama The Paper, the award winning ‘buddy’ comedy Traffic Light and romantic comedy The Baker & the Beauty. Non-scripted titles include the variety game show Who’s on Top which has recently sold to Serbia and the explosive game show BOOM! which has enjoyed great success in Hungary.

Paula  joined  Keshet  International  in  2013  after  relocating from the  United  States  to  Israel.  She  holds  a B.A. and an M.A. in Media and Communication and had previously worked in the legal field. Upon joining Keshet's  sales team, she was able to merge her knowledge and  expertise of law and business  with her passion for film and television. 




 

Levina Negi

Levina Negi is Vice President, Global Acquisitions and Development for Global Entertainment Development at FremantleMedia, one of the world's largest and most successful producers of outstanding entertainment brands, encompassing hit formats from Idols, The X Factor, to Got Talent, The Price Is Right, Let’s Make a Deal and Family Feud. 

A big part of Levina’s role is to focus on securing single territory, multi-territory or global entertainment format acquisitions from third party producers and format creators in order to further enhance the company’s creative pipeline. Levina also effectively identifies key trends, delivers valuable market intelligence to FremantleMedia’s global network of producers across 31 offices in order to seek out new programme opportunities and cultivate ideas with the internal development teams. She also works closely with the in -house Digital and Branded Entertainment team to seek out formats that could affiliate with, or develop into original content, for brands and pinpoint format ideas that could lead to digital commissions for online platforms. 

Levina’s career at FremantleMedia started when she joined the company as an Assistant in Global Entertainment moving on to Development Coordinator, Acquisitions Exec, Senior Manager and most recently promoted to Vice President. Levina has worked across a variety of formats and is credited with discovering and acquiring the global rights to the hugely successful My Mom Cooks Better than Yours, which was the world’s number 1 selling format of 2015, and since its acquisition in 2014 it has gone on to be a hit in 25 territories. 

Prior to her position at FremantleMedia, Levina held roles at an independent production company, New Moon and the BBC.

Negotiating, coordinating and driving through worldwide deals across all platforms, Katrina leads the company’s award-winning television sales division across multiple territories. STUDIOCANAL secured the 2017 Broadcast Award for Best International Sales for The Last Panthers, which it distributes in collaboration with Sky Vision.

STUDIOCANAL is Europe’s leader in production, rights acquisition, distribution and international sales of feature films and TV series. Through its work with a host of award-winning subsidiary production companies and third-party partnerships, the company distributes a diverse portfolio of high-end international drama including Midnight Sun, Harlan Coben’s The Five, Paranoid, Crazyhead, Section Zéro, Baron Noir, Spotless and Crossing Lines. Gergely Okros

Mr. Gergely Okros has been in the TV business for 20 years. After starting his career in a youth news program in 1997, he joined different independent production teams to develop and deliver entertainment shows for the freshly launched Hungarian commercial channels.

He had the chance to create the most popular international formats for the local market, he's worked in Popstars, was the editor in charge of The Biggest Loser, The Farm, Survivor and Fear Factor. Later as a creative producer, he developed successful shows, and as CCO commissioned international bestsellers, like The Voice, Rising Star, The Money Drop, Your Face Sounds Familiar, and many more. He has been leading the local production, on-air promotion, graphic and digital teams at TV2 Group since February of 2016.

She joined Talpa in August 2011 and has played an important role in the business growth across CEE for key Talpa formats such as The Voice, The Voice Kids, I Love My Country, What Do I Know?! and the scripted series DIVORCE.

Before joining Talpa, Laura has worked as Senior Format Licensing Manager for Endemol International for 10 years. She specialized in Advertiser Funded Content, and TV Distribution.

Lucy Roberts holds the position of Sales Manager, Formats in the EMEA North team at ALL3MEDIA International with responsibility for all format sales across CEE, CIS, Benelux and Germany.  Lucy started her career in programme distribution in 2006 at Granada International (now ITVSGE), before going on to hold sales roles across a range of EMEA territories at BBC Worldwide and Keshet International. 



John Rossiter

 

John Rossiter
General Manager, Central Europe; Sony Pictures Television Networks

John Rossiter is general manager, Central Europe, for the Networks’ business across the region. He is based in the regional Budapest headquarters that manages offices in Warsaw and Bucharest. 

Rossiter oversees the ongoing development of SPT's networks in the region, including AXN, AXN White, AXN Black, AXN Spin and the general entertainment channels VIASAT3 and VIASAT6 in addition to digital services – AXN Now, AXN Player. His remit covers 14 localized feeds across Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia and Macedonia.

Rossiter has 20+ years’ experience in the media industry, which he acquired while working for companies such as HBO in Central and Eastern Europe, Sony Pictures Television and The Walt Disney Company in London.




 

Jan Rudovský
Head of Acquisitions, TV Prima, Czech Republic


In his role as Head of Acquisitions for Prima, the second biggest commercial broadcaster in the Czech Republic, it is Jan’s responsibility to acquire ground-breaking programs and formats for Prima’s five linear DTT channels.

Prior to joining Prima five years ago, Jan has worked as Development Manager and Creative Producer for the CME-owned broadcaster TV Nova, and before that was Editor in Chief of the Premiere monthly magazine.

Jan holds a MSc degree in Computer Science, but despite that can (almost) pass off as a normal person.




 

Elżbieta Saciuk
Content Acquisitions Director, Grupa ZPR Media

Elżbieta is responsible for content acquisitions for channels from Grupa ZPR Media, one of the most dynamic Polish media groups which activity covers not only tv broadcasting but also press, internet and large scale events management.  Group’s tv channels portfolio consists of leading brands in the Polish tv market: Fokus TV leading free tv factual channel, Polo TV Polish dance music channel and the newest addition to the Group’s portfolio - free DTT general entertainment Nowa TV.

By developing an unique acquisitions strategy and working closely with key content distributors, all channels have noticed significant growth in very difficult and competitive Polish tv market.

Previously Acquisitions Director at Viacom International Media Networks responsible for content acquisitions for Poland. Elżbieta also held acquisition role at Canal+ Poland responsible for it’s thematic movie channel.

Graduated from Law at University of Warsaw and film and tv production at Nationl Film School in Lodz. 




 

Jan Salling
Co-chairman, Frapa; CEO, Missing Link Media ApS

Jan Salling started his TV-career almost 30 years ago as a Production- & Floor Manager on the classic game-show  „Wheel of Fortune“ at Nordisk Film in Copenhagen. After 5 years on this and many other TV-productions he was in 1993 hired to be the Assistant Producer on the first Norwegian and Danish series of „Fort Boyard“.   

He spent 1994 & 1995 in Oslo, Norway starting up the production company Rubicon (now part of Shine Group) as a Producer and Executive Producer. In 1996 he returned to Copenhagen to join MTV Produktion who was starting up as a true and very expansive pan-Scandinavian production group, later renamed Zodiak Television. 

After working as Producer, Executive Producer and Head of Production for some years he ended up taking the position as Managing Director from 1998 – 2001. He then joined the distribution arm Zodiak Television World as Vice President where he helped build up a very successful global distribution-business. After more than 10 years in the Zodiak Group he left to join Nordisk Film TV World as Head of Sales in early 2007.  

Nordisk Film TV World was acquired by the French group Banijay in December 2009 and renamed Banijay International at MIPTV 2010. Jan Salling left Banijay International in May 2010 and became COO and Sales Director of Nordic World, a TV2 Norway and TV4 Sweden owned distribution-company. 

In June 2015 he left his role as COO to start up his own format company called Missing Link Media – with the simple business model to be “the missing link” between IP owners and international distributors.

With his extensive know-how of producing and distributing everything from primetime game-shows, reality shows, events, docs and musicals - Jan Salling now use his broad TV-background within Missing Link Media to shape TV-ideas coming from independent producers and right holders to better suit the international TV-market and to broker the best possible deals with international distributors on behalf of the owners. 

Jan Salling has been on the board of Frapa since September 2012 and now serve as Co-chairman of Frapa.

Tang Shiding
Vice President of CITVC, China International Corporation

Tang  Shiding  has  been  the  vice  president  of  CITVC  since  2012.  He  was  the  head  of  Journalist Station in America from 2008 to 2012. He  was the director of CCTV administration office as well as  the  director  of  the  Spring Festival  Gala department  from  2011  to 2008.  He  has  written  many books, including Best Programs Around the Whole World and Research of Chinese Style TV Shows. 




 

Andrew Sime
VP of Formats, Banijay Rights

Andrew Sime joined Banijay Rights in 2013, tasked with maximising the company’s format sales around the world. With a particular focus on Asia and Central and Eastern Europe, Andrew works both with Banijay Group companies, and companies outside the Group footprint, to help the rollout of major entertainment brands such as Fort Boyard, Ladette To Lady and Wife Swap.
 
Prior to joining Banijay Rights, Andrew was based in Amsterdam, where he was Head of Acquisitions at Global Agency, and held Format Acquisitions and Research roles at Endemol International and 2waytraffic (Sony Pictures Television).

Pete Smith 
Managing Director, Antenna Group

Pete Smith is Managing Director of Antenna Group, the leading international media and entertainment company. As MD Pete is responsible for 12 different industries operating across 14 territories and more than 2,200 staff.

Pete oversees Antenna Group’s network of international channels (both FTA and Pay-TV) which include Greece’s premium commercial channel ANT1, PRVA and B92 in Serbia, Montenegro’s PRVA, Planet TV in Slovenia as well as Kiss TV and a number of market-leading radio assets in Romania. The company also operates the leading FTA channel in Cyprus (Antenna) and international feeds of ANT1 in the U.S. and Australasia.

Since joining Antenna in 2014 Pete has also been integral in Antenna’s successful investment and growth strategy to diversify its media assets through a series of high-profile investments and partnerships – most recently with global youth brand VICE Media, Ariana Huffington’s Thrive Global and Ron Howard and Brian Grazer’s multi-award winning production company Imagine Entertainment.

Before joining Antenna Group Pete was President of NBC Universal International (NBCUI) from 2007 to 2011, reporting to NBC Universal’s CEO, Jeff Zucker. As President of the US Studio’s International operations, Pete was responsible for film and TV distribution, TV production and Channels. He was also responsible for all M&A activity outside of the US which included the acquisition of Downton Abbey production outfit Carnival.

During his tenure at NBCU Pete delivered 44% growth over three years and completed acquisitions in Japan, South East Asia and Eastern Europe. He also drove an increase in TV channels from 12 to 70 and established a $500 million Pay TV channels business. Production successes include the multi award-winning Downton Abbey, acclaimed drama Whitechapel and ITV’s hit UK adaptation of Law & Order UK.

In 2014 Pete took up the role of Managing Director of Antenna International and is responsible for managing Antenna’s European broadcast network. The organization is focussed on quickly growing its media assets in Eastern Europe and is investing in broadcast and digital companies.

Earlier in his career (1996-1999), Pete served as VP Continental Europe and UK MD for Polygram Filmed Entertainment.




 

Bence Trunkó
Chief Creative Officer, Paprika Latino Studios

Bence Trunkó is the Chief Creative Officer in Paprika Latino Studios. The production power house is a member of the NICE Entertainment Group and has offices in ten countries throughout CEE and the Baltics. http://www.paprika-latino.com/

As CCO and Partner of the company, Bence is overseeing the format development and adaptation in all the Paprika territories from the headquarters in Budapest.  

Bence has graduated from the University of Drama and Cinematography in Hungary, with degrees in broadcast media.

Started as a scriptwriter, he worked as freelancer for various TV stations in Hungary, then later gained his experience as a writer for stage, feature films, radio shows, worked with major advertising and creative agencies, and also published  books on the TV business.

He joined Paprika in 2008 as creative director. He played a major role in the company’s expansion throughout Central Eastern Europe by putting together creative teams in various countries, and developing original formats, that are still on air and distributed by major companies on the market.  

In 2010 Bence became the Creative Director for the Paprika Group and later on, as Paprika was acquired by Modern Times Group, he became Chief Creative Officer and Board Member.

His current job includes setting up and controlling new creative divisions within the company, such as the Drama Department, the Digital Content Hub, and the Trailer Park, Paprika’s brand new short form and promo division.  




 

Kateryna Vyshnevska
Head of Development and Co-productions, FILM.UA Group (www.film.ua)

Kateryna is responsible for strategic direction and development efforts of FILM.UA Group across multiple genres including scripted drama, factual, game and digital. As a part of her job Kateryna evaluates, develops and executive produces scripted drama projects, ranging from original content to local adaptations of successful scripted formats. Kateryna has been instrumental to the international success of The Sniffer (the first Ukrainian drama format optioned or adapted internationally, incl. France, Japan and the USA) and is currently working on several international projects with international partners. She is a regular attendant of all major film and television events, markets and seminars: MIPTV, MIPCOM, EFM/Berlinale, American Film Market, Marche du Cannes/Cannes Film Festival, etc. and has served as a juror for multiple international drama awards incl. International Emmy and Rockie Awards. Prior to joining FILM.UA Group, Kateryna had several years of experience in corporate finance.

Felix Wesseler

 

Felix Wesseler

Felix Wesseler has been working in television business for more than 17 years. After completing an editorial traineeship gaining experience at commercial German broadcaster SAT.1, public German broadcaster WDR and Academy for Journalism, he started working for independent German Film & TV production company filmpool as an Assistant to the Founding/Managing Director, then as Development Producer, and Manager, Corporate Communications. Since 2003 he has been the spokesman of filmpool and worked as a Business Development Manager and Flying Producer from 2009 to 2012. Since 2013, Felix has overseen both filmpool ´s Business Development and Communications departments.  

Felix Wesseler studied both Communications and Media Management, holding a Master of Science (M.Sc.) and an Executive Master of Business Administration (MBA).




 

Clive Whittingham
News Editor, C21 Media

Clive Whittingham is news editor at leading television business publication C21 Media, overseeing the firm's daily newsfeed and also covering the unscripted genre as factual correspondent. He is a regular on the factual TV event circuit and has chaired panels at NATPE, BAFTA, Content London and MIPDOC.

Clive also covers Premier League football for The Daily Telegraph and prior to joining C21 in 2011 had produced content for The Observer and London Evening Standard. After graduating in Journalism Studies from the University of Sheffield he started his career on local newspapers in Derby and Kettering. He has a mild obsession with Queens Park Rangers Football Club.



Zoe Wilson

 

Zoe Wilson
Senior Sales Executive, TRX

Zoe has 10 years’ experience in the distribution industry and specialises in the CEE region. Starting out as an intern at Southern Star International, she quickly became accustomed to life within an international sales team and started to build up her experience from there.

Zoe worked as a Senior Sales Co-ordinator at Endemol Worldwide Distribution (now Endemol Shine International) before taking on the responsibility of a maternity cover for Eastern Europe within the sales team.

She then went on to spent several years as Sales Executive for Central and Eastern Europe, CIS and the Baltics at Beyond International. It was at Beyond that Zoe built her relationships with buyers in the region and developed a deeper understanding of the CEE market.

After leaving Beyond, Zoe spent some time as Senior Sales Executive at All3Media International before joining the team at TRX. Since joining TRX, Zoe has had the opportunity to further explore the trends and needs of the Eastern European region, as well as having the opportunity to work alongside distributors and sales teams to help expand their reach within the region – sharing her love and understanding of the CEE market.






 

Samantha Wong 
Managing Director, ZN Animation Global Division

Zhejiang Zhongnan Animation (Zoland Animation) was founded in 2003 as the first key national animation enterprise in China. Zoland has produced more than 80,000 minutes of original animated series and films and continue to invest in original animation, live-action features, global distribution, publishing, and licensing of IPs such as “Rubi,” “Magic Wonderland,” and “The Configurators.” Their series and films have aired on networks in more than 90 countries and territories including the United States, Japan, Africa, and Europe.

Zoland  Animation has grown into one of the largest comprehensive original animation companies in China, exemplifying technical excellence in 3D, 4D and digital multimedia, and is designated as a national hi-tech enterprise certified to pursue national science and technology R&D projects. 






 

Qin Xiaoming 
Deputy Director, International Distribution & Acquisition; Jiangsu Broadcasting Corporation (JSBC)

Mr. Qin Xiaoming is the Deputy Director of International Distribution and Acquisition of Jiangsu Broadcasting Corporation (JSBC), one the most influential state-owned media groups in China.

Skilled in sectors including content trade, format export and television network operation, Mr. Qin is a veteran executive with more than ten years of experience in the industry.






 

Johnathan Young
VP, Original Programming and Production; HBO Central Europe

Johnathan Young is a producer and executive producer with a long history in the television industry.  

Among Mr. Young’s credits for HBO Europe are the drama series are MAMON (“Mammon”) in the Czech Republic, PAKT (“The Pact”) for Poland and VALEA MUTA (“Silent Valley) for Romanian audiences.  

In 2014 he produced THE MILL for Channel 4, prior to which he spent two years in the BBC Drama Department as  Executive Producer, simultaneously overseeing their two long-running one-hour dramas, CASUALTY and HOLBY CITY – 170 episodes in all. 

Both shows received BAFTA nominations during this time. 

From 2005 to 2011 Johnathan was Head of Drama at major  independent Talkback Thames, part of the Fremantle group, where he oversaw 400 episodes of its long-running show THE BILL, winning BAFTA and Royal Television Society awards. He has also collaborated internationally with other Fremantle companies, such as Teamworx in Germany, on the miniseries THE SINKING OF THE LACONIA. Earlier in his career Johnathan held positions as production manager, first assistant director, director and  commissioning editor.
