NATPE MIAMI 2022 CANCELS IN-PERSON CONFERENCE TO PROTECT THE HEALTH AND SAFETY OF ALL ATTENDEES
New Programs, Events, and Activities in Development to Bring Professional and Financial Opportunities to NATPE Membership in 2022
LOS ANGELES, January 9, 2022 – After serious consideration of the health and safety of all attendees, as well as the quality of the event experience for its membership and other constituents, NATPE Miami 2022 has canceled the in-person Conference planned from January 18-20 this month in Miami, Florida with new dates and locations under consideration for the next NATPE Conference and Marketplace. The decision was announced today by JP Bommel, President and CEO of the National Association of Television Program Executives (NATPE), the premier global business association for content producers, distributors, streamers and buyers across all platforms.
NATPE is in the process of developing a plan to create both virtual and in-person events (when appropriate) throughout the year with either no fees or limited ones in appreciation for the support NATPE has received from many people around the world.
JP Bommel, President and CEO, NATPE remarked, “Although this decision from a financial point of view will cost the organization a great deal of money, that was secondary to our primary concern, which is to put the welfare of our members first. We put a great deal of safety protocols in place, but it is just not enough given the intensity of this virus which is spreading at an enormous rate all over the world. We look forward to producing a strong conference at the right time and under the best circumstances, and to provide all our attendees with the greatest value we can offer.”

Donald Albright

Executive Producer & Co-Founder
Tenderfoot TV
California native Donald Albright is an entrepreneur, producer, and co-founder of Atlanta-based content creation company, Tenderfoot TV.
Albright has spent the last 20 years working on a variety of music and entertainment projects with notable artists including Jay-Z, OutKast, Usher, DJ Khaled, and many more. In 2016, Albright joined friend and music video director Payne Lindsey to launch Tenderfoot TV, a content creation company that works with fellow creators to bring stories to life through an array of entertainment media — including podcasts, live shows, television, film, and other digital platforms.
Since its launch, Tenderfoot TV has released multiple successful podcast franchises including “Up and Vanished,” “Monster,” “Radio Rental,” and “To Live and Die in LA,” amassing over 600 million downloads in total in just four years. Through Tenderfoot TV, Albright has garnered partnerships with media companies including iHeartRadio, NBCUniversal, HBO, Audible, Netflix, Cadence13, and Issa Rae’s label Raedio, continuously collaborating on new podcasts.
As executive producer on all of Tenderfoot TV’s podcasts, Albright has made it a priority to ensure that Tenderfoot’s projects leave a lasting footprint beyond entertainment. An integral aspect of the company’s projects is that their true crime podcasts are not only entertaining, but also give authorities tools to uncover new leads and crack these cases that have gone under the radar for too long. “Up and Vanished” helped crack the case of missing schoolteacher and beauty queen Tara Grinstead. It was followed by “Atlanta Monster,” which helped renew interest in the 29 cases of Atlanta’s missing and murdered children, known as the Atlanta Child Murders. The city of Atlanta announced in March 2019 that after 40 years it would be re-examining evidence in these cases. Tenderfoot TV’s popular podcast “To Live and Die in LA,” has given authorities evidence that there was more than one person involved in the death of aspiring Hollywood actress Adea Shabani, and was named Associated Press’s Top Podcast of 2019.
Albright scaled “Atlanta Monster” into the “Monster” franchise, launching other investigative hits throughout 2019-2020 including “Monster: The Zodiac Killer” and “Monster: DC Sniper.” He’s also behind the no. 1 true crime hit “Culpable,” and worked to put out season two of Payne Lindsey’s No. 1 horror anthology podcast, “Radio Rental.” Albright serves as executive producer on Tenderfoot TV’s “Up and Vanished” TV docu-series for Oxygen Networks that aired in 2020, and has a variety of television and film projects in development.
Most recently, in 2020, through a deal brokered by Albright, Tenderfoot partnered with Issa Rae’s label Raedio and HBO, to create a one-episode special podcast “Looking for LaToya,” based on Insecure’s show within a show of the same name. Tenderfoot also released “Somebody,” in partnership with the Invisible Institute, The Intercept, Topic Studios, and iHeartRadio, which investigates the death of a young black man in Chicago.
Continuing partnerships with iHeart and Cadence, Tenderfoot announced new podcast slates for 2020-2021 in The Hollywood Reporter and Deadline respectively.
Dubbed the “Podcast Kingmaker” by Atlanta Magazine, Albright’s success in the podcast industry has been widely acclaimed. Albright serves as Chairperson for The Podcast Academy and in 2020 he won both an Icon Award and the 2020 Audible Audio Pioneer Award. Fast Company also recognized Tenderfoot as a company that “knows how to keep listeners engaged,” and Albright plans to continue that mentality of entertainment with a purpose as he leads other forthcoming Tenderfoot projects, including podcasts and television series in development for the upcoming year.
