Chris Philip, an executive producer, writer and international television executive with extensive experience in development, packaging, production, business affairs, global strategy and distribution, has served as President and Executive Producer at studio Starlings TV since its formation in 2018.

For Starlings, Philip is executive producing Peacock original drama Departure, starring Emmy Award-winner Archie Panjabi and Academy Award-winner Christopher Plummer (in one of his final roles), and The CW’s sci-fi action series Pandora. Both of the globally distributed series are in production for their third seasons.

The slate for 2022-23 will also include Philip executive producing female-driven, anti-poaching series Shadowland, co-produced with Athena Pictures and directed by Darnell Martin(The Good Lord Bird, The Walking Dead);legal drama Honor, based on the hit Swedish series from Viaplay, which is in development with NBC from and showrunner Carol Mendelsohn (CSI, CSI: NY) and EP Maria Bello (NCIS, A History of Violence); and murder mystery Sherlock’s Daughter, with showrunner James Duff(The Closer, Major Crimes), writer Brendan Foley(Cold Courage), UK partner StoryFirst,andParis-based distributor Mediawan.

On the heels of those series will come the female-driven sci-fi series Veil, from showrunner Craig Van Sickle (Tin Man, 24) and director Adam Kane (Fantasy Island, American Gods) and an adaptation of the South Korean format Trap from CJ ENM, with cross-over action star Don Lee (Marvel’s The Eternals, Train to Busan) to produce and star.

Philip is also working with ZDF Enterprises and G5 Fiction on developing high-profile projects Alexander the Great, a collaboration with Ben Silverman/Propagate, written by Michael Hirst (Vikings, The Tudors); and, with Russian broadcaster Russia One also on board, Romanovs spy thriller Red Winter, written by Emmy-winner Stephen Kronish (24, The Kennedys).

Previous credits include executive producing two NBC primetime scripted series: The critically-acclaimed, 13-episode reality-meets-scripted production Siberia and Crusoe, starring Philip Winchester; executive producing syndicated series SAF3, starring Dolph Lundgren; co-creating Deep Undercover (with 52 episodes currently streaming on Netflix); co-producing Colibritany, a series of digital properties that achieved nearly 100 million views on YouTube; and selling 13 episodes of The Conspiracy, starring Val Kilmer and Stephen Dorff, to NBC.

Having launched his career with Alfred Haber Distribution, Inc., and serving as one of the youngest vice presidents ever at ITC/PolyGram Television. Later acquired by Universal, Philip remained with the major Hollywood studio for 13 years until leaving to lead the UK’s Power Television as President. He then co-founded Engine Entertainment – later sold to Philip’s longtime producing collaborator Ben Silverman – and most recently served as Head of Production at Televisa USA.
