Brian Doherty serves as The CW Network’s Senior Vice President, Multi-Platform National Sales, where he oversees all national advertising sales efforts for The CW across all of the company’s programming platforms, including linear, streaming and on-demand. Under his guidance, The CW has emerged as an industry pioneer in transitioning from a predominantly broadcast television network into a fully integrated multi-platform AVOD programming service.
Doherty was promoted to this role in 2010, while continuing to manage the sales teams in New York, Los Angeles and Chicago, and serving as the primary liaison for advertisers, agencies and clients.
Prior to transitioning to The CW at its launch in 2006, Doherty had served as Vice President of Sales at The WB Network. He joined The WB in 1999 as an account executive.
Doherty began his career in advertising on the client side of the industry, first as an assistant media buyer for the DDB Needham ad agency. He then moved to Anheuser-Busch, Inc., where he was responsible for their sports-related media buying. Doherty transitioned to network sales in 1998 when he joined CBS Cable/TNN as an account executive.
Doherty earned his undergraduate degree in marketing from Saint Bonaventure University in Olean, New York.
