Enrique Guillen currently serves as Executive Vice President, Commercial Strategy and International Development for the Universal Studio Group. In this capacity, he has responsibility over the international Formats Group, overseeing the global exploitation of scripted and unscripted IP from NBCUniversal and Sky Studios. Since taking on the role in early 2020, Guillen has driven a new strategy to expand the Studio’s global reach into foreign language content through a series of innovative partnerships and co-productions.

Previously, Guillen was one of the founding executives of the Universal Television Alternative Studio, an initiative launched under NBC Entertainment. As EVP of Alternative Development and Production for the Alternative Studio, he oversaw the development, launch and global rollout of properties like “World of
Dance”, “Titan Games”, “Hollywood Game Night”, and the award-winning hit game show “The Wall” produced in over 20 countries. Guillen also led innovative content, merchandising and digital initiatives for the studio’s brands.

Guillen joined NBC in 2008 as Senior Vice President of NBC Alternative Programming, developing and producing primetime unscripted franchises, including “The Celebrity Apprentice” and “Last Comic Standing”.

Guillen started his career as a broadcast journalist and investigative producer, covering national and global politics and producing long form investigative documentaries for Univision News.

Guillen earned an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and a M.A. as a Fulbright Scholar at the University of Miami.

He sits on the board of the Imagen Foundation, the organization created by Norman Lear to recognize and celebrate Latin talent in the M&E industry. Guillen is married with three children and resides in Los Angeles.
