Rick Ambros is an executive producer, consultant and past studio executive with an emphasis on international and local language film, television and digital production, co-production, business development and financing across Asia, Europe and North America.  He has been focusing his attention on the rapidly growing media and entertainment industries in Asia, particularly India and China.  He is Consultant, Global Partnerships and Executive Producer for Applause Entertainment, a leading IP studio in India.

Over the years he has worked with Fox International Productions, Sony, Universal, Warner

Bros., Paramount, MGM, Ivanhoe Pictures, Star TV India, Applause Entertainment, ProSiebenSat1, Constantin Entertainment, Perfect Storm Entertainment, Seven Stars Media and others.

Rick has an extensive background working in India.  Currently, he is a Consultant and Producer for Applause Entertainment.  He served as a Consultant for Ivanhoe Pictures / SK Global.  Rick was instrumental in setting up Fox Television Studios India Pvt. Ltd., working closely with Star TV, and consulted for Sony Pictures Television. 

At Fox International Productions, Rick consulted on local language productions in Asia (China, Korea, Japan, India, Indonesia) and Europe (Germany, Spain, UK).   

Rick served as COO of Perfect Storm Entertainment, a joint venture between Director Justin Lin and Chinese media company Seven Stars.  During his tenure Perfect Storm produced the Chinese-language film Hollywood Adventures (released by Enlight Pictures), starring Zhao Wei, Huang Xiaoming and Tong Dawei and U.S. television series Scorpion for CBS.

He has been actively engaged in film financing at the studios, including Paramount, Universal and Warner Bros., where he advised German investors providing production financing for film and television.  Films included The Hangover, Sherlock Holmes, Sex and the City, The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor and Mission Impossible 3.

Rick started his career in the entertainment industry as Director of Development and CoProduction at German media group ProSiebenSat.1 and as an international marketing and distribution executive at Walt Disney Studios.

Rick is a frequent Industry speaker, moderator and guest lecturer on emerging international markets, film financing and co-production.  He is on the Executive Board of the Asian World Film Festival.
