|Bio||Armando Nuñez is President and Chief Executive Officer, CBS Studios International. He reports directly to Leslie Moonves, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, CBS Corporation.
As CBS’ top international executive, Nuñez oversees all international distribution, sales and marketing for programming from CBS Television Studios, CBS Television Distribution, CBS News, SHOWTIME and one of the industry’s largest television libraries. He is also in charge of creating and licensing international formats and managing the company’s international channel ventures.
Under Nuñez’s management, CBS Studios International has grown to distribute a comprehensive slate of top-rated, critically acclaimed programming in every genre. He has helped distribute and grow the company’s key franchises around the world, with both “CSI” and NCIS being named the most-watched drama series in the world. He has also orchestrated landmark agreements with Netflix and Bell Canada for STAR TREK: DISCOVERY and innovative deals for the international expansion of SHOWTIME programming across Canada, Australia and Europe.
On the occasion of the MIPTV’s 50th anniversary in 2013, Nuñez was one of the first recipients of the inaugural MIPTV Médaille d’Honneur, which recognized six international television executives, including his father, Armando Nuñez Sr., for their achievements in the industry. At the same time, Nuñez also received the City of Cannes Gold Medal at Cannes City Hall in a ceremony hosted by Mayor Bernard Brochand.
Nuñez is a member of the board and co-chair the global committee of NATPE International as well a member of the board and executive committee of the International Council of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS). In addition, he is currently on the board of trustees of Fordham University and was formerly on the board of visitors of the George L. Graziadio School of Business and Management at Pepperdine University.
