|Bio||Dan Punt is a Managing Director at FTI Consulting in Los Angeles, specializing in advising companies in the media, entertainment, advertising, technology, and online industries. His client work focuses in particular on digital transformation, including strategy and business plan development, project management, performance improvement, mergers and acquisition (M&A) advisory, merger integration, private capital financing, due diligence, and valuation. Recent client work includes M&A-driven growth strategy for a major US television distribution company, multi-territory launch strategy for a subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) service, and commercial and technical due diligence for a $1B+ private equity investment in fiber connectivity.
Prior to FTI Consulting, Mr. Punt oversaw numerous client projects and relationships at HighView Media, a boutique strategy advisory firm that specialized in strategy and operational support support for media and entertainment companies.
Prior to HighView Media, Mr. Punt helped divest Ascent Media’s digital services and content distribution businesses as VP of Corporate Development. While at Ascent, Mr. Punt also helped launch the Global Media Exchange, an online business services portal and B2B marketplace.
Before that, Mr. Punt ran the business development division of ABC Family (Disney Cable Networks), building out the channel’s digital distribution, licensing, international sales, and home entertainment business lines. Mr. Punt began his career advising senior management as a consultant with McKinsey & Co., where he focused on technology, media, and private equity clients. Mr. Punt also previously managed an IT team onboard USS Peleliu as an officer in the US Navy.
Mr. Punt holds a Bachelor of Arts in Applied Math Economics from Harvard University, and a Master of Science in International Relations from the London School of Economics. He is fluent in English, French, and German.
