|Bio||George Levendis has worked in the media and entertainment industry for the last 25 years, based in New York, London, Sydney, Athens and Johannesburg.
Beginning his career in the music business at BMG Australia and then working internationally for BMG & Sony Music Entertainment based in London, New York City and Athens. He transitioned into television, managing a broadcast network and has moved on to become a global television and entertainment executive.
George joined SYCO Entertainment in January 2011 as Head of International, overseeing all aspects of Simon Cowell’s television business internationally. His key focus is SYCO's major brands - Got Talent, The X Factor, La Banda, The Investigator, Keep It In The Family,Your Song & the upcoming Mum,Mate, Computer Date.
Got Talent is licensed in 71 markets, aired in 186 and is the Most Successful Reality TV Format. X Factor is licensed in 56 markets and has aired in 168 and was the winner of the 2015 Broadcast Award for Best International Programme Sales. The business has grown dramatically over his tenure both in profitability and global expansion. Most recently he was instrumental in setting up a creative co-development deal between Shanghai’s Star/Canxing Media Group & SYCO Entertainment.
Prior to joining SYCO Entertainment he was the General Manager of the Television Network ANTENNA1.
He has worked alongside legendary media & music executives Clive Davis, Antonio "LA" Reid, Puff Daddy and currently Simon Cowell.
George has also appeared as a judge & mentor on the entertainment formats The X Factor and Star Academy for six seasons.
He holds Masters degrees in Media Management (Macquarie University, Sydney) and Marketing Management (NSW University, Sydney) as well as a Bachelors degree in Psychology and Sociology (NSW University, Sydney).
