|Title||President, Telemundo International Studios & Telemundo Internacional', NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises|
|Bio||Marcos Santana is the president of NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises’ Telemundo International Studios and Telemundo Internacional. Santana previously served as president and chief operating officer of Tepuy International, a programming distribution company which he founded in 1989 and was later acquired at the end of 2006 by Telemundo to form Telemundo Internacional. He was installed as its president in early 2007 and is a current member of the Boards of Telemundo and TVN Panama.
Santana is charged with overseeing all of the network's content distribution efforts, as well as the company's distribution services to other producers around the world, international co-productions and partnerships. He is also involved in the network's development process for all program genres, including developing original concepts, procuring stories, making casting decisions and assessing international distribution viability.
Santana is the founding president of Telemundo International Studios (TIS), founded in 2016. The production unit is focused on creating high-end short-form scripted formats to fulfill the growing needs of emerging platforms and international markets. With its high budget Spanish-language miniseries, it is tapping an international growth opportunity at a time when Telemundo has placed itself in the lead among Spanish-language broadcast networks in primetime in the United States. TIS is focused on adapting to new consumption trends and featuring the work of some of the Hispanic entertainment industry’s most important onscreen and off-screen talent – including actors, producers and directors in the Hollywood market.
During Santana’s tenure as president of Telemundo Internacional from 2007 to 2017, the company handled the international distribution of Telemundo and Universo’s original content, and that of other top producers, and became the second largest worldwide distributor of Spanish-language programming in the world with programs airing in more than 120 countries and pay TV channels in almost 80 countries, within Latin America and Africa.
