Born in Rio de Janeiro, Raphael graduated from Berkeley Vale High School, in Australia, and received a Business Administration degree from Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro, in Brazil. He holds an Advanced Management Program degree from I.E. Business School, in Spain, and a General Management degree from Harvard Business School.
Since 2006, Raphael is the Executive Director of International Business at Globo. In this position, he oversees drama and sports rights licensing efforts and international channels development and distribution. Raphael also leads all international production ventures. He has executed key co-production agreements with some of the most prestigious companies in the Americas and Europe regions such as Azteca, Telemundo, Portuguese SIC and Rete 4, from the Italian Group Mediaset.
Prior to this position, Raphael served as Sales Manager for several territories including Americas' Southern Cone, and Eastern and Western Europe.
Before joining Globo, Raphael started his corporate career at the America’s Beverage Company, which later became AB-Inbev, a world leading brewing company. Also, he founded and managed Sigma International Trading Company focused on the apparel manufacturing industry.
