Brett Dismuke is General Manager of ALLBLK, the streaming service created by BET founder Robert L. Johnson which focuses exclusively on Black TV and film; and WE tv the compelling, can’t miss home to unscripted series fueled by personalities and relationships filled with purpose and passion, overseeing all aspects of the brands’ creative and business functions, including original program development and production, scheduling and acquisitions, marketing, advertising and promotional efforts, and long-term strategy and planning.
Outstanding original content for AllBlk currently includes original series Stuck With You; Daytime Emmy-nominated soap opera comedy series The Rich and the Ruthless, created by and starring award-winning actress Victoria Rowell; provocative relationship drama series Craig Ross Jr.’s Monogamy; original drama series A House Divided; and Beyond the Pole, UMC’s first original reality series; while WE tv’s unscripted shows continue to be some of the most buzzed about in pop culture, from standout franchise Growing Up Hip Hop to Friday night phenomenon Love After Lockup and Life After Lockup.
With over 25 years of marketing, production, sales, and branding experience, Dismuke previously served
as Chief Content Officer for UMC, overseeing acquisitions, distribution, development, and production for the service, and curating the overall content of the subscription service to achieve balance in genre, mood, and context of Black filmed projects showcasing feature films, documentaries, original series, network TV shows and classic sitcoms, and more.
Prior to overseeing content at UMC, Dismuke founded his own entertainment outfit, So Chi Entertainment and served as President/COO of The Swirl Group, an independent urban production company. Dismuke was also President of Moguldom Entertainment, a digital media and entertainment company. He also previously served as Senior Vice President of Acquisitions and Urban Programming for RLJ Entertainment’s One Village studio. In addition to locating and securing new content, Dismuke oversaw strategic planning, financial management, brand-building and product lines for the division.
Dismuke is a graduate of the University of Southern California.
