At only 21, Xolo Maridueña has already established his place as one to watch within the industry.

Xolo’s work has landed him on Forbes’ 30 under 30 list as well as Variety’s 2021 Young Hollywood Impact List, an annual roundup that highlights young stars who are trailblazers in the industry. He was named “one to watch” by People Magazine, and was also recently included in People En Español’s “50 Most Beautiful” list for 2021.

In August 2021, it was announced that Xolo will star in the lead role of BLUE BEETLE for DC Comics, set to debut in theaters worldwide in October of 2023. This will be the first stand-alone title to feature a Latino lead as a superhero.

Xolo currently stars as Miguel Diaz in Netflix’s smash hit series COBRA KAI, an extension of the classic Karate Kid film franchise, alongside original cast members Ralph Macchio and William Zabka. After a wildly successful run on YouTube Premium, the series moved to Netflix for its third season where it instantly took the #1 spot in the U.S. upon its January 1, 2021 premiere. Having garnered wide critical praise since the show’s 2018 debut, Maridueña has quickly become a fan favorite, having already earned Teen Choice and Young Artists Award nominations. The show’s 5th season debuts September 9th and has recently been nominated for 4 Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Comedy Series.

Next up, Xolo will star in / produce THE LEDGER for HBO Max with Will Packer Entertainment. The half hour series follows the trials and travels of Gabriel (Maridueña), a young man who sets out into the world to right the wrongs of the deadly man who trained him. Using only the ledger kept by his predecessor, Gabriel travels from town-to-town, an avenging angel, fixing shattered lives.

Xolo’s first big break came in 2012 at age 10, when he landed the role of Victor on NBC’s hit drama series PARENTHOOD, alongside an all-star ensemble cast including Dax Shepard, Craig T. Nelson, Lauren Graham, and more. Throughout his three seasons on the show, his performance impressed critics and fans alike, earning him an Imagen Award nomination, recognition for “channeling Latino talent” at the ALMA Awards, and a spot-on Latina Magazine’s “50 Brightest Stars Under 25” list. He also won a Young Artist Award along with other young Parenthood cast members for Outstanding Youth Ensemble, as well as a TV Land Award.

Throughout his career, Xolo has appeared in a number of guest television roles including MAJOR CRIMES, TWIN PEAKS, RUSH HOUR, and MACK AND MOXY. In film, he was featured in Dealin’ with Idiots, directed and starring Jeff Garlin, alongside Gina Gershon and Kerry Kenney, and has also performed on stage in “Light in the Darkness” and “Little Red,” both of which showed at the CASA 0101 Theater in Los Angeles.
He was recently awarded the Rising Star Impact Award by the National Hispanic Media Coalition.
