THE CW NETWORK launched in 2006 as America’s fifth broadcast network, with programming targeting younger viewers, a demographic highly sought after by advertisers. The CW, a joint venture between Warner Bros. Entertainment and CBS Corporation, broadcasts a six-night, 12-hour primetime lineup, Sunday through Friday. A pioneer among television networks in the digital space, The CW has been making its entertainment programming available for streaming since early in its inception. Today, the network’s primetime series are available to stream for free, without authentication, on the ad-supported cwtv.com and The CW app, now available on every major OTT platform. Additionally, the network’s digital-only platform, CW Seed, which launched in 2013, offers an array of original short-form digital content as well as past seasons of fan-favorite television series, in an ad-supported environment that is also available to consumers free and without authentication. To date, there have been over 60million downloads collectively for The CW and CW Seed apps.
