Carolyn Finger is the Executive Vice President of Variety Business Intelligence (VBI). The company is the entertainment industry’s premiere metadata provider for filmed content in the US and internationally. VBI includes Variety Insight, the leading entertainment research and information platform, and a familiarity and appeal metric, Vscore. VBI was created when Variety acquired leading TV research and data solution, TVtracker, in 2011. Carolyn was the first hire and a partner at TVtracker.
Carolyn has been quoted in Forbes, The Wall Street Journal and USA Today analyzing entertainment industry trends. She has appeared in panels at NATPE, Hollywood Innovation and Technology Summit (HITS), MIT Media Lab, and Women in Film. Her success in managing and building data products drives VBI’s growth, most recently expanding its extensive Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) data for talent. She works closely with VBI’s data licensing clients to ensure success in enhancing their internal systems with VBI’s data and leads VBI’s content and web development teams.
Carolyn started her career as an agent for writers and directors. Advocating for clients, building relationships, and creative innovation translated perfectly into product and project management. A love of TV and film remains a huge inspiration.
